So we had our 1st snow fall this week! So we decided to go through some of our winter gear and the kids thought it would be fun to try on some of mom & dad's snowboarding equipment. They had a ball running around the house!

Disney On Ice

So we decided to take the kids to Disney on Ice in November. This was due to Ella being out for the whole month of November for school and a week before Logan has surgery. It was amazing! The kids loved it becuase they knew 95% of the characters. It was so cute to see them get so excited to see someone come out and skate. Logan would grab our faces and point to someone to make sure we saw what he saw. We had some shaved Ice that was horrible and expensive (The two things Rick hates to have together) and some good memories.

Our Little Girl Is Growing Up

So it is crazy to think that our little girl is old enough to lose a tooth. I was out for a bit and when I came home, Rick and the kids were on the floor looking for something. When I asked what they were looking for they said "Ella's tooth". What? how could they do this while I was away. So I guess while i was out Ella came in telling Rick her mouth was bleeding. Rick started looking at and realized her tooth had come out. Now Rick had tried to get this tooth out for awhile with no luck and at times, Ella can be kind of a wimp. So the question was.... Where did the tooth go? Well we couldn't find it and decided Ella would have to write a letter the tooth fairy to explain what happened. Welll the tooth fairy must have understood becuase she got some money out of it!

Apple picking saga!

I first have to say that this is really hard keeping this up. Some friends love it and I am having a hard time thinking of things to write about. I guess we are just boring.
For starters.... I am always feeling like I get myself into pickles like 'I love Lucy' so this is one of the many that has happened in October.
A lady in our ward, sent out am e-mail offering free apple picking to anyone and that you can take as many as you wanted. So I called some friends to tell them about the amazing deal. And I was off. I got to the orchard taking pictures of the kids and picking. And my favorite was climbing the trees and shaking them.( getting hit in the head a few times)
So later that night we were getting ready for a halloween party and I burnt my treat I was bringing. So I was beyond mad at myself and just being pissy. And then on top of it all Rick asks 'hey michelle where is the camera?'
oh holy crap! where is the camera? well I did not find it anywhere and then I remembered ...picking apples...
The next morning I had a friend watch the kids as I went to search the grounds....
well 1 hour of looking nothing and of coarse it was raining.
at this point I just said one last little pray...saying my hubby is going to be so mad....because I always do things like this...
and at that moment I kicked back some leaves and there it was.....
so Rick was not mad and my camera still works....
but that is one day of my life......but i love everyone of those goofy moments!
because they make me laugh, that is when it is over...

I miss my dad!

So my dad had been staying with us for about a month while he was visiting Idaho. It was nice to have him in the house. He made sure we had ice cream every night, the kids got loved, all the little projects we had got done, and most important of all.... give me advice and his time. He flew back to Uruguay last week and even though it was time for him to go, it was hard to see him leave.

Ella & Logan's 1st day of school

So here are pics of our kids on their 1st days of school. Ella staretd Kindergarten this year and really loves it. She insisted she rides the bus and I had a harder time than she did. I followed her the entire way and made sure she got to class. You can see her waving bye to us on the bus and didn't even look back. We got Logan all potty trained and he went to preschool with no reservations. Time flies.

Rick's Guy weekend

So ever time Rick goes with his "fellas" on a "guys' weekend" I realize how wild and crazy him and the other guys can get. Rick has known these guys since high school and Ricks College days. So let me tell you what they did. So the trip started on Friday when Aaron Peterson drove from Salt Lake to Burley to pick up Justin Pond, Jerry Garn, and Jake Butikofer. They the drove to Boise to join Rick, Dave Eames, and Brent Roberts. They then arrived in Bend, Oregon to meet up with Rich Lee at about 12:30 am. Jacob Borg came in about 2:00. They then woke up @ 4:30 to get ready to go to Eugene. They got there and started tailgating with a mini kitchen Aaron had brought. After they ate breakfast they played football for an hour and then fixed lunch (I am sure they all ate very healthy food). They then watched BSU beat Oregon and then went back to Bend. Part of them came back to the house at about 3:00 and slept upstairs. Rick had a raspy voice from yelling so much, was tired from the lack of sleep, was saying crazy statements he and other boys said all weekend, and had many stories to tell but knowing him and who he went with, there are other stories me and the other wives may never know......

So Rick wanted to give Ella a special book for her birthday. So he looked and looked and found the cutest book "I Love You More" and was all excited to have her open it. So there we were with two presents left, the "Big One" and the one Rick bought her. So she was already a little upset she couldn't open her big present and Rick told Ella she would love the present..... well I guess we were wrong!

Twin Falls Temple

So we were able to go to the Twin Falls Temple open house in July. It was pretty and a great chance for the kids to see the temple. They were amazed by all the pictures, lights, and the "pool" that Logan wanted to go jump in.

Caldwell Night Rodeo

So every year we go to the Caldwell Night Rodeo and this year Ella was able to take a friend. We had a blast and was able to get close to "Buddy" the bull. We saw lots of things and was able to eat good food!

I went to Girls Camp!

Wow! All I can say is things get a little out of control at Girls Camp and this is what happens...

So we were the Honey Bees and thats why all the yellow. And these are my girls...Another thing is it was alot of fun and Girls Camp is so much fun as a leader.

We took advantage of the weekend. We went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Thompson. Had a day of Four wheeling, paint balling and visitng with family. Our family had a blast!

Its so amazing how fast kids grow up and when I look back this was Ella's 4th dance recital and she loves to perform. Practices are another thing she would not want to go EVERY week. But I knew that she would like to peform and we also make her finsh anything she starts.

so... last year we were in new york visiting my sister and my sister got us tickets to go on the martha stewart show. well it was the 5 de mayo show. we ended up getting decorations for a party. so i was so excited to finally be able to use all the decorations. so i didn't take many picture of my decorations but we had to get a pinata. and that is what i did take pictures of.

Well, lately I have been tring to get more veggies in the kids and Rick. Thanks to my Sister and Rachel Ray, I am getting good at it. My Spaghetti was a hit and I even made homemade french bread. Spring Break???!!! (huh)

We ( the kids and I) went to South East Idaho to see Rick's family for Spring Break and what did we find a whole lot of SNOW... while others found sun and enjoyed themselves, we survived the blizzard and a hail storm that came to Teton. So we geared up and just enjoyed how South East Idaho weather is.....it was good to come back to our side and see the flowers starting to come out and green grass.

Easter 2008

So for Easter we went to the Sorensen for an Easter Egg Hunter. After a great meal the kids went on their hunt and to much surprise after about 4 eggs, Logan was done. Logan only looked for Blue eggs. Ella ran all over looking for as many eggs as she could find (with the help of Michelle pointing them out. Then it was the adults turn. Michelle was lucky enough to find the golden egg with a free movie pass (that we used to go see Horton hears a who).

When things get quiet Part II

So the other day Ella asked for a spray bottle to do her doll's hair. So I gave one to her thinking nothing of it. I was getting into some spring cleaning when I realized I hadn't heard anything form the kids and smelled hairspray. So when i investigated the crime scene, I found Logan with his hair hard as a rock as well as Ella's other dolls. I guess she is trying to do hair like me... so since then i have been keeping the scissors away from her. After washing Logan's hair three times i realized I need to watch the future Paul Mitchell a little closer!

When things get quiet

So we have learned with our two angels that when things get quiet.... something bad is happening. Case in point Logan (The Marshmellow Bandit) finding where we tried to hide the marshmellows. I asked Rick to check on the kids he Yelled "Logan what are you doing" followed by a loud laugh. Logaan just kept eating and when realizing we were taking them, ate them quicker and filled his mouth full.

Yesterday was my 28th birthday. So after being treated like a queen by some of my girlfriends, I decided to party it up at Red Robin with Gary, Tona, and my father in law. It was a great night! We had a cute old guy make balloon animals for the kids and flowers for me! I was sung to by the waiters, the kids posed with someone in a costume (which is a big deal due to them usually freaking out and running the other way or hiding behind us), and I enjoyed my ice cream (that I wasn't able to finish due to the bottomless french fries). It was fun being together and laughing and realizing how lucky I am to have great people in my life.

So Ella came up to me and told me she wanted her hair cut. So after checking in with dad about it, we decided it was time for a makeover. So the 1st picture was where it was. So Logan is totally into trains. We are always tripping over or stepping on a train track or train car. We have walked upstairs to our bonus room and found the longest tracks to unknown destinies. He will play for hours and want to show us what he has created. We think he got this from his cousin Luca. The only thing is that he doesn't want to clean them up. You are probably asking about the hair.... well I will tell you about that later

So Ell had her dance recital a little before Christmas and always put on quite the show. She was a sugarplum fairy as you can tell by the picture. She does her little dance, talks to her friends, poses for pictures, gets embarrased when people tell how cute she is or how well she does, and then asks when we can get ice cream. She has dance once a week with a lady we used to go to church with and seems to love it.

So my brother Gary decided to have his birthday party at a go-kart track and invited us to go a couple of laps. All I can say is that all my memories/skills of racing as a kid back in NYC came back. The best part of the race for me was beating Rick. He tried but couldn't pass me as took him in turn 3. Ella and Logan thought it was pretty funny to see us drive around in small cars.

We had some friends over for the Best Game ever! Its called Rock Band and it is so much fun. I am officially obsessed.

So its alot like Guitar Hero. But in Rock Band you have a singer, drummer, and you can have a bass guitar too. I enjoy the singing and the guitar. On the drums is a diffrent story, I am not made for that. We will leave it at that.

Christmas 2007

This year we stayed home for the first time. The kids had so much fun just being able to hang out and enjoy their presents. This year we had Christmas Eve with my brothers family and we loved the fun filled evening with them. We had a great dinner, opened presents, made cookies for Santa and enjoyed a little Atari.
This is how the cookie making went : Tona and I thought we should double the batch then we had plenty. And we sure did. We almost broke my mixer but Tona busted into kneeding them the old fashion way. Between our skills we finally got the job done. And Santa was happy too.
This is what Santa stayed up until past 2 putting together. It was worth it. The kids loved waking up and seeing what Santa brought and trying to figure out how he got it in our house!

Cleaning the toilet

So it becomes very quiet and we decide to go check on the kids because when things are all quiet, you know that is never good. When we went into the bathroom we saw Logan playing with a toilet plunger in the toilet and Ella encouraging him. When we asked what they were doing, the looked at us and told said they were cleaning the toilet. So we just shook our head, laughed, and took a picture. What else could we do?

Utah Trip 2007

So we try to go down to Utah every December to do some shopping and go see Christmas lights at Temple Square. Well we left Friday night and when we got down there there was soooooo much snow. Well the next morning the kids went wild in the snow. They had such a good time and wanted to stay in the snow all day. Rick wasn't happy with driving in the snow but we managed. We went to Temple Square and had a great time with Rick's siblings' families. We thought we would share a few pictures of the fun weekend!

Yellowstone Trip

So this summer we decided to go on a trip with Rick's parents up to Yellowstone. While we were eating we heard some noises behind us and to our surprise a big old buffalo just happened to be passing by. As you can see by the picture, he was close. A few minutes later a ranger came by and pointed out another buffalo that was even closer and was a little upset. So the closer he got the faster we picked up our picnic and hopped into the car. Seconds later the buffalo walked by us and lets just say all he had to do was stick our hand out of the window and we would have touched him. I never saw these while I was living in New York. We saw so many animals and saw lots of beautiful sights!

This year the city of Meridian was safe due to the dynamic duo! They were able to walk the streets and take lots of candy (that dad ate most of). We all can sleep good at nights knowing these two are fighting crime!

Our Boise State Broncos!

In the fall there is one thing we all look forward to.... BOISE STATE FOOTBALL! Our broncos had another great year, even though they didn't go as far as they did last year! Rick used all his season tickets and he was nice enough to take me to a few games. He was "super dad" once and took both kids to a game all by himself while I was in New York. Rick and I went to Logan to watch BSU and Utah State. We were able to meet all of our good friend down there to see the broncos crush Utah State. It was fun because I sat and visited with all the girls while Rick caught up with all his boyz! We are hoping Logan can use his arm to play for the Broncos in 16 years. Rick is working on it with him and bought him a jersey that he wears every game day. Rick is already looking forward to next season and will be lost for the next 8 months after BSU plays in the Hawaii Bowl on December 23rd. Go Broncos!!!!

What we are up to

So since we are new to this blog world, we will update anyone that cares to know about us.
Well, Rick has a great job as The Director of Client Services at a Childrens' Behavioral and Mental Health Care facility. He has put his masters degree to good use. Myself, I am enjoying being a Mom and doing a little hair here and there. To our kids, Well our oldest Gabriella is 4 1/2 and is a busy little girl between Pre-school and Dance. On top of all that she loves having playdates with all of her friends. We know we have our hands full with her. On the other hand we have our hands full with our "Rick Jr.", I mean Logan. He is 2 1/2 and is all boy and Rick just loves that. In the pictures you can see him in his Superman pj's , when we got that he wore it for 3 days straight and I would have to come up with creative ways to get them off. With both of them we are super busy. That is the update and we will try to keep posting.
